Before she left for Warsaw, Poland last Friday to represent the country in the September 30 Miss World 2006 pageant, Binibining Pilipinas-World 2006 Anna Maris Arcay Igpit (right) was given a good luck dinner party by the Boholanos in Metro Manila last August 29 at Club Filipino. Fr. Joie Balistoy, a Boholano priest, officiated the mass, followed by inspirational messages and good wishes for the forthcoming competition from First District Cong. Edgar M. Chatto and Atty. Calibo, president of the Boholano Association of Metro Manila, Inc. (BAMMI). During the program, the Association of Young Boholanos in Manila (AYBM) gave a small image of the Sto. Niño blessed during the Mass, as shown in photo. Maris, a devotee of the Holy Child Jesus, appreciated the token and promised to bring the image with her to Poland . BAMMI also gave her a secret token.

Tapok-Tapok Bol-anon, Inc. led the good luck toast, after which she was serenaded by the Del Horest from Panglao, original singer-composer of the immortal Visayan ballad " Matud Mo. " Ardie Araneta - Batoy emceed the affair. In a television interview last week, Maris, Miss Bohol Sandugo 2005 title holder, said that, win or lose after Miss World, she will donate some of her hair as part of support campaign for the rehabilitation of the oil spill-affected areas in Guimaras. Maris' voting number for the Miss World competition is MW 112. Text vote mechanics will be relayed next week.
