DepEd -7 conducts journalism training

 

EQUIPPING the mentors with the right skills and the rudiments of newspapering, the Department of Education Region 7 conducted the Regional Training for School Paper Advisers and Campus Journalists last August 24-26 at the DepEd Eco Tech Center, Lahug, Cebu City. Campus journalists and school paper advisers from all over the region participated in the annual event.

The training falls under the Campus Journalism Program of DepEd and aims to enhance the journalistic skills of campus journalists and school paper advisers especially in the fields of copyreading and headline writing, sports writing and radio broadcasting. It also serves as a venue to prepare the region's campus journalists for the upcoming National School Press Conference set in Baguio City .

Participating divisions in the 3-day training are Bais City , Bayawan, Tanjay. Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, Bohol, Cebu Province, Cebu City, Danao City, Lapu-lapu, Mandaue, Talisay, Toledo and Tagbilaran City. Meanwhile, Tagbilaran City Science High School sent Ronn Patrick Guingguing and Aileen Laroda to attend in the said training.
