LAMP 2 Project in Catigbian gains support in 3 barangays

CATIGBIAN. Implementation of the Land Administration and Management Project (LAMP) Phase 2 initiated by this municipality gained support from the constituents as observed during the project presentation in barangays Ambuan, Poblacion and Poblacion Weste. Rannie Ibanez, community development officer of SAFO 5-Loon had given the municipal team the job training and technical assistance under the supervision of Reynaldo Casenas and Mrs. Glecerita Racho, PPIO technical operation manager. “We assured everyone not to worry of your financial needs in connection with the Free Patent application because the local government will temporarily shoulder these expenses. Only then when the certificate of land titles are ready for distribution that you will settle your bills and arrange the mode of payment” Mayor Roberto Salinas aassured during the same activity.

It may be recalled that in 2007, LAMP 2 Project was presented by the government lead agency, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) at Bohol Tropics with then department secretary Lito Atienza, as the main speaker. It was during that time that Mayor Salinas as LMP president came to know the project. As a man of vision, who is very much concerned to the needs of his people, he pursued the goal of availing the project. Salinas conferred his strong intention to avail the project to the provincial head of DENR, Nestor Canda and to Alfredo Doblas. Having failed the criterion to qualify for financial assistance from the Australian Aid to all LAMP-2 regular municipalities due to some technical errors in land classification of portion-workable lot, the mayor assured Bohol LAMP-2 that LGU-Catigbian will take charge of its financial requirements.

Clearly understanding the objectives of the project, the members of the local legislative body headed by Vice-Mayor Necita Digaum passed legislative measures expressing interest to avail of the program with the assurance that the LGU will allocate funds for the implementation of the project. The body also authorized the chief executive to sign the partnership agreement between LAMP2 and the Municipality of Catigbian . For now, a total of P650,000.00 is allocated for the project. In this program, land owners can have certificate of land title at a minimal cost and less hassle, application fee of P50.00, documentary stamp of P20.00 and cadastral cost which varies on the number of cylinder concrete post (mohon) utilized in a particular area. LAMP 2 LGU-LED Team headed by Municipal Assessor Benjamin M. Lacea with CDO Pedro Tocmo, CDAs, Mrs. Gemela Castro, Ms. Marissa C. Tambis, & Ms. Juvy S. Maglajos, SA's Engr. Lovell Villacido, Arnel G. Rulida and Renante R. Madura are working 8-hour a day to conduct interview and assist in the filling of application forms to those interested land owners in their respective barangay halls.
