2nd Cobra International Dragon boat race slated on April 26-30

DAUIS. – The 2nd Cobra International Dragonboat Competition is slated on April 26-30, 2013 along the narrow channel that separates this town, Panglao island and Tagbilaran City , according to the organizer the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation. This came following the successful launching of the first Dragon Boat race participated in by local enthusiasts in preparation for the international event, said Charlie Holganza of the PDBF during the initial meeting last week at the provincial Capitol. As a show of solidarity to promote Bohol's tourism and sports programs, the local Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bohol recently joined hands with main organizer, Tapok Tapok Bol-anon, in launching the 2nd Cobra-PDBF International Club Crew Challenge slated on April 26-30 in Dauis.

JCI Bohol Chocolate Hills, thru their president Alma Lim, will provide the liaisons for the dragon boat teams. The 15 or so teams expected to compete will be needing help navigating thru the different places and schedules in Bohol. Their efforts will be augmented by volunteer HRM students from the different local universities. JCI Boholana Kisses, represented by their Executive VP Maria Escabarte, will be providing assistance by taking charge of the daily program in the concessionaire area. Expect great entertainment with fun games, surprising gimmicks and cool prizes for all event days. Earlier, the Rotary Tagbilaran led by President-elect Ms Angie Hoffman, joined forces with Tapok Tapok Bol-anon to help make the event a success. The Rotary will take charge of a Photo contest that is expected to promote the hotels of Bohol and the dragon boat competition itself.
