THE MARVEL OFISRAEL

Israel is a 60 year old country with a population of 7.1 million people. Since it was founded, it is in a constant state of war withits enemies that surround it. Despite, this small nation becomes a technological giant in today's global economy. Israel produces more start-up companiescompared to the large, peaceful and stable nations like Japan, China, India, Korea, Canada and the UK. From the rankings of IHS Jane, which specializes in the defense-military field, Israel ranked 6th place in defense exports, where the US is the first place, 2nd is Russia, 3rd is France, 4th is the UK, and 5th is Germany.Report say, Israel’s defense export has increased by 74% compared to 2008. Because of the decreasing sales in the US and Western Europe, Israel today sell twice the number of UAVs sold by the US thus becoming the world’s leading exporter of UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) in 2013. Sales increase mainly in Eastern Asia such as India, Vietnam, Myanmar, and South American countries like Australia, Africa and Canada.

The Philippines is interested in the Israeli weapon systems as part of the country’s army modernization plans, with intent to acquire surface-to-air missiles and other missile and launcher systems, advanced artillery systems, UAVs command and control systems for combat at night. Israel remains one of the most hated nations on earth. Israel Test author George Gilder said Israel is hated because it is successful, free, and good. He said, this tiny nation produced more than 20 percent of the Nobel Prize winners. Israel claims it is not just a nation but a state of mind. Jewish brain power is concentrated in the tiny nation of Israel. Israel puts a premium on research and development, with many more people per capita in this field than any other country in the world.

Yoram Ettinger, an Israeli economic analyst said, "It shows how robust the human factor is in Israel.” Veterans of the Israeli military, once they retire, join the commercial market and apply the different cutting edge technologies in the medical market, telecommunications and cellular market. Israel's technology has become an economic powerhouse. Jewish immigration of more than 6 million Jews, who return to Israel from around the world over the past century, is also one of the reasons for Israel's success in the field. The God of Israel is alive, He doesn't sleep or slumber!

Tidbits:

It is common with other nations to honour their merchant navy, especially the sacrifices of seafarers in maintaining the merchant fleet in times of war as well as peace. UK shipping minister Stephen Hammond said: "Our maritime success could not be achieved without the people who work in the shipping industry, and I am very pleased that there will now be an honour specifically for merchant seafarers."
