Bohol ready for regional sports meet

THE CVIRAA MEET - A parade Tuesday afternoon will kick-off the CVIRAA meet 2006. The schools divisions of the province of Bohol and the City ofTagbilaran will host's this year's edition of the sports hostilities for elementary and secondayr students from the four provinces of the region. The street parade starts at 2:30 p.m. from Plaza Rizal fronting the Capitol going to the Carlos P Garcia Sports Complex for the opening ceremonies. Full story

Guv slams PENRO on DENR report about Panglao Airport

TAGBILARAN CITY – “Include the result of the technical studies on the airport and of a survey taking the Boholanos' sentiments on the project in your report to the Secretary. BWUI needs a week to decide on water pipes

TAGBILARAN City 's water provider, Bohol Water Utilities Inc. (BWUI) asks for a week to relocate their water pipes along CPG Avenue that runs along a road-right-of-way before Hanjin construction could finalize its works. According to BWUI operations manager, Engr. Felix Sunido Jr., the water utility company still has to conduct further studies and await for the management's approval regarding the matter. Full story

“Today is a historic day for Bohol because it has proven to the world that Tiger Shrimps can be cultured in marine waters. No study in any part of the world was done along this line. This is the Philippines ' first, Asia 's first and most likely the world's first.” This was the proud statement of Malcolm Sarmiento, National Director of the Bureau of Fish and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) during the first harvest of tiger prawns cultured in marine waters recently at Panggangan, Calape, Bohol.
