Cesar Montano for governor?

ooWe are just playing safe. That's why the question mark. But the political grapevine is abuzz with talks that Cesar Montano is indeed considering the possibility of throwing his hat in the political ring. As to aiming high in the senatorial derby or trying his luck in the Bohol gubernatorial contest, only he can make the categorical answer. Anyway, if ever he will decide to run for governor, this Bglante can only say that whatever perorations we have in several columns back that the real opponent of Gov. Erico Aumentado is yet to be conceived in the womb of time, we are ready to eat humble pie. Well, well, well, politics is the art of the possible.

If there's no impediment that Montano can run for governor, why not? After all, running is one thing, and winning is another. An informal sampling of things to come during the radio program Cuentas Claras showed that as many Boholanos are mesmerized at the prospect of Montano running for governor while just as many are rooting for Aumentado's reelection bid. Of course, Aumentado has the distinct advantage considering his outstanding record in public service. His string of accomplishments starting during his stint as three-term congressman and now governor up for reelection for his last term is also a major factor. For Montano, there is no question that he is a renowned movie actor and a multi-awarded at that.

But the question is: is the Bohol electorate about ready to rally behind an untested movie idol to assume the role of public servant? Moneywise, there is no question Montano must have earned a pile after his long stint in the movie business. Another question that bogs the mind is that, is he willing to spend his hard-earned money for election purposes?
