Udlot summer arts workshop starts

 

ARTIST molder, the Udlot Summer Art Workshop announces the opening of this year's series, which starts on April 3, 2007. The annual workshop provides young visual artists the opportunity to learn basic art studies using charcoal and pastel techniques.

The second group, will tackle watercolor painting, and pen and ink works in addition to charcoal and pastel techniques, while the more advanced participants will be provided with lectures and demonstrations in figure drawing and painting in oil. This year, other crafts such as papier-mache and puppet-making, might be added for inducing artistic talents,

The Udlot Summer Art Group, a non-sectarian, apolitical organization came into existence in April 1985, founded by the painter Hermogena Borja Lungay. After a two-month long workshop, the first art show, was held at the DWCT faculty lounge. Weeks of rigid lessons were spent on sessions in free-hand drawing and painting, and various media introduced were pencil, oil pastels and charcoal on paper. The present workshop runs a culmination activity where the participants are recognized and awarded for artistic excellence. Registration is going on.
