Sunday Post 20 years old on July 13

The Bohol Sunday Post, the local weekly that revolutionizes newspapering in Bohol , will turn 20 years old on Thursday, July 13. The 20th anniversary will be celebrated with simple but fitting rites. A thanksgiving mass will usher in the paper's 20th milestone while a simple salo salo will be held later in the afternoon.

The Post rose to become the number 2 paper in Bohol despite the difficulty of running a newspaper brought about by high production cost and shrinking ad revenues. It may be noted that the Post after its 20-year existence has become a mute witness to the rise and fall of local newspapers.

During its formative years, not a few jaded observers predicted the eventual death of the paper considering the ferocious environment of stiff competition in such a small ad market like Bohol . But its editor-publisher defied the prediction of self-styled pundits to see the day that the paper turns 20 years old on July 13.
