Rivermaya jams with Bohol at the BQ Mall

 

MTV Asia Awardee for 2005, Favorite Artist for the Philippines , and the Philippines ', “Ang Banda ng Bayan,” Rivermaya will rock the local crowd with its trademark performance on September 22, Friday 7pm at the 4th level of the Bohol Quality Mall. Out this time with their songs that hit the charts since 1994, Rivermaya would without doubt get everybody jamming with their Awit ng Kabataan, 214, Bring Me Down, Panahon Na Naman, Kisap Mata, Himala, Princess of Disguise, Elesi, Kung Ayaw Mo Wag Mo, Hinahanap Hanap Kita, Umaaraw Umuulan, Liwanag Sa Dilim and You'll be Safe Here.

RiverMaya in Bohol is presented by “Youth Against Corruption and Poverty”, Bohol Quality Mall and K & N Productions, Events & Promotions in partnership with Panglao Island Nature Resort, Doy's Seafood & Grill, CellMart, Campsite Bar & Grill and San Miguel Beer Corporation. Rivermaya, whose 14th album hit platinum, was recently adjudged as “Best Media Sound Track” and “Best Video” with their hit single “You'll Be Safe Here” during the First MYX Music Awards.

In a historic moment for OPM and Pinoy rock, Rivermaya composed of Mark Escueta, Japs Sergio, Mike Elgar and Rico Blanco took centerstage at the recent MTV Asia Awards 2006 ceremonies, at the 5,000-capacity Siam Paragon in Bangkok , Thailand. As a double triumph Rivermaya was also named Philippines ' Favorite Artist 2006, making it the second year in a row that band has taken home the gold. Only one artist per country receives the honor each year.

Rivermaya has also won the Favorite Group award a record-breaking three times at the MTV Pilipinas Awards, in 2002, 2003 and 2005. Rivermaya Live in Bohol ! Is also brought by Gerry's Grill, big Dwarfs Internet Café, Metro Centre Hotel and Mobile Solutions and in part by Bakstiq Restaurant, Buen-Bella Pension House and Monsilog Express.

The concert shall be front acted by the winners of the recently concluded “Sandugo Battle of the Bands” namely: Brownbuds Mendel's Legacy (2nd runner-up) Solido (1st runner-up) and 20 SomeThing (Grand Champion) Part of the proceeds of the event will finance the various scholarship and livelihood programs of YACAP and the community service projects of the Philippine National Red Cross Bohol Chapter.

Tickets can be bought at any Dunkin Donuts outlets and from any Alpha Phi Omega International Service Fraternity & Sorority (HNU-Petitioning Chapter) member.
